Christopher Paul Wild has been the director of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) since 2009. A prestigious institute associated with the World Health Organization (WHO) and based in the French city of Lyon. The IARC promotes international collaborations in the area of cancer research from there, with a special focus on the prevention of cancer. Dr. Wild himself has a scientific interest in better understanding the relationship between environmental factors and genetic factors in the development of cancer. Dr. Wild worked at the University of Leeds until 2008 as a professor of molecular epidemiology.
