Dr. Christopher P. Cifarelli, MD, PhD, MMM, FAANS, FACS, is Director of the Gamma Knife Program and a Professor with joint appointments in Neurosurgery, Radiation Oncology, the Department of Neuroscience, and the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at West Virginia University’s School of Medicine and WVU Cancer Institute in Morgantown, WV. He provides specialized care for patients with complex brain and neurological conditions using advanced radiosurgical and minimally invasive techniques.
He earned his academic foundation with a BA and MS from Rutgers University, followed by both his PhD and MD from Thomas Jefferson University, blending deep scientific inquiry with clinical expertise. Dr. Cifarelli has an extensive portfolio of peer-reviewed publications in areas such as stereotactic radiosurgery, Gamma Knife outcomes, and intraoperative radiotherapy, reflecting his commitment to advancing precision neurosurgical and radiation treatments through research and innovation.
