Christopher Locher PhD

Christopher Locher is a Director of Program Management in the Oncology Division at Baxalta in Cambridge, Massachusetts where he serves as the program manager for the Symphogen collaboration for monoclonal antibody immune checkpoint inhibitors and life cycle management of Oncaspar for the treatment of leukemia. Prior to Baxalta, he worked at Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated in Boston where he held leadership and alliance management roles in R&D programs and international collaborations. Prior to Vertex Pharma, he led the preclinical research and external alliance programs at Opsona Therapeutics in Dublin, Ireland focusing on the development of small molecule and monoclonal antibody therapeutics and collaborating with large pharma partners. Prior to that, he worked at Maxygen, a gene shuffling company in California, in R&D programs and alliance management in the biologics and vaccines division. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii and completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Antwerp in Belgium and the University of California, San Francisco.
