Christopher Libby MD

Christopher P. Libby is currently both a board-certified clinical informaticist and a board-certified emergency physician in the Greater Los Angeles Area, where he practices clinically. He also dabbles in telemedicine, both synchronous and asynchronous. In addition to helping physicians deliver care to patients, he also works on web development, EM/CI research, and advocacy.

Libby has extensive experience in healthcare informatics with knowledge of HL7, FHIR, and CDA standards. He has done custom programming for the front and back ends of Allscripts/Epic, ETL design, data warehousing in SQL Server, custom programming and application development, integrations using Orion Rhapsody, Bridges, and ConnectR, and conversions between EHR vendors. Most recently, he worked to convert a 500+ bed hospital from Cerner to Epic; led the development of a Hospital at Home program; led the development of an emergency medicine observation unit; and improved our health system's SEP-1 compliance by over 15% without increases in antibiotic prescribing or inappropriate fluid administration.
