Dr. Chris Peters, Professor, specializes in adult reconstructive orthopedic surgery of the hip and knee. He performs routine and complex joint replacements and regenerative hip-preserving operations. One of his specialties includes the treatment of hip pain in young adults from acetabular dysplasia and/or femoral-acetabular impingement with pelvic osteotomy or surgical dislocation, and osteochondroplasty. Dr. Peters completed his medical education at the University of Southern California residency at the University of Utah and a fellowship at Rush Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago in total joint replacement. 

His research interests include patient-specific three-dimensional modeling of the hip, the restoration of deficient bone stock in failed joint replacements, biomechanics of total knee and hip components, the treatment of hip pain in young adults, and the development of hip and knee implants. Dr. Peters is the George S. Eccles Endowed Chair for the Department of Orthopaedics, at the University of Utah School of Medicine, as well as an Adjunct Professor in the University of Utah Department of Bioengineering.
