Dr. Christopher A. Hinckley is a neuroscientist and research leader specializing in preclinical translational science and human cellular model research. He currently serves as Scientific Director at Biogen, where he contributes to advancing drug discovery and development efforts in neurology, rare neurological, and neuromuscular diseases. Hinckley’s work spans managing preclinical and clinical-stage research programs across diverse therapeutic modalities and applying cutting-edge human cellular models to better understand disease biology and pharmacology.
At Biogen, Dr. Hinckley has been involved in pioneering applications of microphysiological systems (MPS) and complex in vitro models (CIVMs), including platforms such as skeletal muscle MPS for disease modeling and pharmacology. His contributions in this area help bridge the gap between in vitro research and clinical relevance, particularly for disorders where traditional models have limitations.
