Dr. Christopher Owens is a vascular surgeon in the Center for Limb Preservation, which is part of the UCSF Heart and Vascular Center. Owens specializes in the treatment of peripheral artery disease (PAD), thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, and dialysis access procedures. He is particularly interested in treating patients with vascular problems in the lower leg.

Dr. Christopher Owens earned a medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He completed a clinical fellowship in vascular medicine and endovascular surgery at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston. In his research Owens explores drugs to prevent vein graft failure and restenosis after angioplasty and stenting. He is an assistant professor of surgery at UCSF.
