Christopher Buckley is a Biomechanist with longstanding interests in the subject’s application to age-related neurodegenerative conditions. During his PhD in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Sheffield, he applied novel data/signal analysis techniques to provide novel gait-related biomarkers for people with PD. The core of his research involves the use of wearable technology both in a clinical environment and as a means to quantify mobility continuously from people’s natural environment. His research aims to discover specific digital biomarkers/digital endpoints to help earlier intervention and targeted disease modification for neurodegenerative diseases where mobility is impaired.
