Christoph Rocken

Professor Dr. Christoph Rocken is Director of the Department of Pathology at the University Medical Center Schleswig Holstein (UKSH), Campus Kiel. In July 2012, he was elected as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

Professor Rocken studied Medicine from 1984 to 1990 at the Universitat Hamburg. He began his training first in Hamburg, then went on to continue his academic studies in Kingston, Canada and his clinical studies in Runcorn, England. After his recognition as a consultant for pathology in 1998, he was appointed as a Consultant at the Centre for Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine at the Otto von Guericke University, Magdeburg. In the same year he qualified to teach at professorial level in the specialist field of pathology. In 2002 he was appointed as a university lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and in 2005 he became Adjunct Professor. In 2006, Christoph Rocken received an assistant professorship at the Charite - Universitatsmedizin Berlin, where he was also Managing Consultant and acting Director of the Institute. In 2009 he accepted a position at Kiel University.
