Christine P. Donahue joined GSK in 2011 to lead and develop an aptamer discovery platform within GSK at the Molecular Discovery Research Boston site in Waltham MA. Previously, she was a discovery scientist at Archemix, a biotechnology company in Cambridge MA specializing in the discovery and development of therapeutic aptamers. In 2013, she took over as leader of the Encoded Library Technology platform. This platform develops DNA encoded libraries which contain billions of small molecule compounds which are screened using affinity-based selection methodology in a single binding reaction. This small molecule discovery platform complements the other internal screening methodologies including high throughput screening and fragment-based drug discovery. Recently, Christine was appointed Head of New Chemical Entity Discovery (NCE) Molecular Discovery, responsible for the small molecule screening platforms within GSK.
