Dr. Christine Kirunga Tashobya is a Health Systems Specialist with expertise in several aspects of health systems including Health Policy Formulation and Analysis; Strategic Planning; Health Financing, Public-Private Partnerships for Health, and Monitoring, and evaluation. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Supporting Policy Engagement for Evidence-Based Decision Making for Universal Health Coverage (SPEED) Project at MakSPH.

She is a medical Doctor with an MA (Demography), an MSc. Health Policy, Planning and Financing (LSHTM) and a Ph.D. Public Health from Antwerp, Belgium. Before her Ph.D., she had been a senior Planner in the Ministry of Health for over 10 years. Christine is a member of Working Groups 1&2 of the International Taskforce on Innovative International Financing for Health Systems that was put in place by world leaders at the UN High-Level Event 2008.
