Dr. Arenson received her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware before studying medicine at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College (formerly Jefferson Medical College). She remained at Jefferson for her internship, residency and fellowship in geriatric medicine before joining the faculty. Dr. Arenson held numerous leadership roles throughout her career including Director of the Division of Geriatric Medicine, Administrative Director of Palliative Care Consultation Service at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Vice Chair for Academic Affairs in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and Co-Director of the Jefferson Senior Adult Oncology Program in the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center.

Dr. Arenson serves on the boards of directors of the Delaware Valley ACO and the JeffCare Alliance Clinically Integrated Network. She is also the founding co-director of the Jefferson Center for Inter-Professional Education, and is internationally known for her work in this area.
