Christine Gleason, M.D., is a board-certified pediatrician at UW Medical Center and Seattle Children's Hospital and a UW Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics and Neonatology.

Dr. Gleason's book "Almost Home: Stories of Hope and the Human Spirit in the Neonatal ICU" describes a time she used an experimental therapy to try to save a very critically ill newborn. It worked, and the baby never looked back. She will never forget that moment. She feels she has one of the best jobs in the world. She takes care of sick babies, she gets to teach the next generation of neonatal caregivers and she has had opportunities to do research to advance neonatal care.

Dr. Gleason earned her M.D. at the University of Rochester, New York. She is board certified in both Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Her research has focused on the developing brain, specifically the effects of drugs such as cocaine, alcohol, and narcotics.
