Christian Mazel MD

Christian Mazel was the recipient of several awards, bestowed by the French Academy of Surgery and Medicine. Prof. Mazel has distinguished himself through his earnest commitment to the medical profession. Since 1993, he is notably head of the Orthopedic Department at Montsouris Hospital - Paris. He became full professor in Orthopaedic surgery at the University of Paris XIII in 2003.

He is an extremely active member of several national and international societies, including the French College of Orthopaedic Surgery, the French Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SOFCOT) and is also a founding member of the French society of spine surgery (SFCR). He is the Past President of the European Cervical Spine Research Society 2000-2002.

Involved in education and university teaching, he created and organized in 2004 the first combined French neuro orthopaedic diploma for spine surgery.
