Christian Lueck is an academic neurologist and Director of the Neurology Department at the Canberra Hospital. He is President of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Society of Australia and Chair of the International Relations Committee of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society. He has worked with CIC (Professor Maddess) on various projects since he moved to Canberra in 2003.
Lueck trained in medicine at Cambridge University and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, UK. He trained in neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London, UK before moving to Edinburgh, UK, as a consultant neurologist where he was also an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Edinburgh. In 2003 he moved to Canberra where he has been Head of the Department of Neurology for 12 years. He received a national award for excellence in university teaching from the Australian Learning and Teaching Council in 2010. He has a strong clinical interest in neuro-ophthalmology.
