Mr. Brown offers both general and specialist urological care. He specializes in laparoscopic and robotic surgery including radical prostatectomy and minimally invasive treatment of upper urinary tract cancers and has performed over 800 cases to date. Mr. Brown has also performed and published the first pelvic kidney removal through the umbilicus using a scarless pure single-port technique.
Mr. Brown is dedicated to both teaching and research. He was a lecturer on the MSc and Diploma in Urology courses run from University College London. He has taught practical surgical skills to UK trainees and consultants on a monthly laparoscopic nephrectomy wet lab course in Denmark and was a lecturer on a 3-day laparoscopic course held in Europe. He mentors other colleagues learning laparoscopic techniques including radical prostatectomy and nephrectomy.
Previously he worked in the Clinical Effectiveness Unit at the Royal College of Surgeons and has had original work published in the British Medical Journal. He has over 45 peer-reviewed publications and remains an active clinical researcher in both benign and malignant prostate disease. Mr. Brown trained at the King’s College Hospital, University College Hospital, and The Royal College of Surgeons, in addition to other hospitals across the southeast of England.
