Christen Barras MBBS, BMedSci, MMed, PhD

Associate Prof Barras completed his medical degrees at Monash University (MBBS (Hons), BMedSc (Hons)) in 1999. He completed anatomy and surgery qualifications at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, and The University of Melbourne (Part 1 FRACS, DipSurgAnat, DipOMS). He was the Stroke Imaging Fellow at Royal Melbourne Hospital, serving for four years on the first Acute Code Stroke team at the hospital (2006-09). Whilst a Radiology Registrar at RMH from 2010-14, he completed both Master of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy theses on Imaging Predictors in Stroke Evaluation at the University of Melbourne (MMed, Ph.D.), both passed without revision. In 2015, he became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR).

Associate Prof Barras has broad experience in public and private radiology practice and teleradiology, including all Neuroradiology, General Radiology, and mammography.
