Chris Banney is the chronic kidney disease clinical nurse consultant in the Renal Dialysis Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital. She has a total of 40 years of nursing experience. She has 33 years’ experience working with patients with kidney impairment. Chris commenced her renal nursing in the Renal Dialysis Unit at the Rockhampton Base Hospital in 1984, transferring to the Mackay Unit in 2000. She has experience in haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and transplantation. Chris’s position involves education of clients living with chronic kidney disease in regards to their treatment options for their level of kidney disease and how they can assist with the management of their chronic kidney condition.
