Chloe Christensen PhD

Chloe L. Christensen, PhD, is a molecular geneticist focused on developing genome editing–based therapies for rare pediatric genetic diseases. Her research centers on evaluating the efficacy and translational potential of emerging gene editing technologies and applying these advances to therapeutic strategies for children with inherited disorders that currently lack effective treatments.

At CHOC Children’s Hospital, Christensen works on preclinical approaches to genetic disease while collaborating closely with clinicians to better understand how innovative therapies can be translated from the laboratory to patients. Her work is driven by a strong interest in bridging the gap between genetic diagnosis and therapeutic development, with the goal of accelerating access to personalized genetic medicines.

In 2026, Christensen will begin a clinical fellowship in the Laboratory and Genomic Medicine (LGG) program at Washington University in St. Louis. Through this training, she aims to deepen her expertise in clinical genetics and integrate clinical and research perspectives to help build systems that connect genomic diagnosis with the rapid development of individualized therapies for rare diseases.
