Chinthalapally Rao MS, PhD

Rao has received a B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry; and an M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Microbiology from the Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. Dr. Rao joined the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2004 as a Professor and Kerley-Cade Endowed Chair in Cancer Research. Previously he held the position of Divisional Chief, Nutritional Carcinogenesis and Leader of the Chemoprevention Program at the American Health Foundation (AHF)-Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Cancer Center, in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Rao joined the OUHSC as a Leader of the Aerodigestive/ Chemoprevention Program (2004-2009); served as Chairman, the Scientific Advisory Committee (2006-2009) and Director, of the Center for Cancer Prevention and Drug Development (2009- Present) at the PC Stephenson Oklahoma Cancer Center. Dr. Rao holds the appointments at the Graduate School and adjunct Professorships at the Department of Pathology and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Rao has received OU Regents/President awards for “Superior Research and Creative Activity” and “George Lynn Cross Professorship”.
