Dr. Ching-Jen Jared Chen, MD, is an Assistant Professor at UTHealth Houston. Dr. Jared Chen’s research interests are in clinical trials and clinical outcomes in cerebrovascular diseases including intracerebral hemorrhage, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, dural arteriovenous fistulas, carotid-cavernous fistulas, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral vasospasm, carotid stenosis, cavernous malformation, and ischemic stroke. He has authored more than 180 research articles, which have been published in renowned peer-reviewed journals such as Stroke, Neurology, Neuro-Oncology, Neurocritical Care, Clinical Trials, Journal of Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery, Journal of Neurointerventional Surgery, International Journal of Stroke, and American Journal of Neuroradiology.
Dr. Chen received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed residency training in neurological surgery at the University of Virginia in 2021. During his residency training, he also completed an enfolded fellowship in neuroendovascular surgery at the University of Virginia, followed by a cerebrovascular surgery fellowship at the Auckland City Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. In 2022, he completed a fellowship in neuroendovascular surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, and neurocritical care at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
His research interests are Neurological Surgery, Cerebrovascular, Neuroendovascular, Spine Surgery, Neuro-Oncology, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Stereotactic Surgery, Spinal Cord Injury, and Endoscopic Neurosurgery.
