Dr. Chidinma Chima-Melton is a physician leader dedicated to delivering evidence-based compassionate care to vulnerable populations including burn inpatients.

She began her academic career receiving her medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine, New York, where she graduated with honors. She completed her training in Internal Medicine at Yale University where she developed a love for pulmonary physiology and the complexities of ICU care.

She accepted a fellowship position in Pulmonary and Critical Medicine at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Following graduation from her fellowship, Dr. Chima-Melton joined the faculty at UCLA Health where she currently practices as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine. She has worked as an Intensivist and Internist specializing in the care of burn patients. She currently serves as the Medical Director for Quality in the Department of Medicine and Regional Medical Director for the Pulmonary Division.

A board-certified pulmonologist and intensivist, she splits her clinical time between the Grossman Burn Center, a busy outpatient pulmonary practice, and managing critically ill adults as well as those admitted with advanced lung diseases. She is dedicated to equity, diversity, and inclusivity in health care.
