Chhaya Verma PT, PhD

Dr Chhaya V. Verma currently holds the post of Professor and Head at Physiotherapy School and Centre, TNMC and BYL Nair Ch Hospital, Mumbai. She has 36 years of experience in the field. She completed her PhD from the DY Patil Medical University, Navi Mumbai in 2020. Her specialities are Hand Rehabilitation, Brachial Plexus Injury, and Rehabilitation in various Musculoskeletal Conditions. She has been awarded the Dr V. R. Paithankar Memorial Oration by the NARCAOOD Research Centre (Nagpur Association for the Rehabilitation of Children and Adults with Orthopaedic and Other Disabilities), Nagpur for the contribution of efforts towards the up-gradation of rehabilitation of hand conditions specially Leprosy hand on 31st July 2004. She is currently pursuing her GSMC-FAIMER Fellowship from Seth GS Medical College and KEMH. Being a Research enthusiast, she has a keen interest in Qualitative Research. She has published over 60 articles in International Journals and National Journals & has authored chapters in 3 textbooks. Remarkable work has been done by her during the COVID Pandemic is seen in her 14 Publications in esteemed journals, her chapter contribution to a Textbook on "Covid Management: MCGM Experience" and being appointed as a Member of the Government of Maharashtra State Task Force for Post COVID Management Strategy Planning (Co-ordinator for Rehabilitation Team). She has also done her PGDHHM (Post Graduate Diploma- Hospital Health Care Management) from the University of Pune in 2002.
