Chee Wai Chua PhD

Dr. Chee Wai Chua is a PI and Professor at Clinical Stem Cell Research Center, a Group Leader at State Key Laboratory of Oncogenes and Related Genes, and an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Urology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine-affiliated Renji Hospital; and a Shanghai Overseas High-Level Talent and Shanghai Institutions of Higher Learning’s Professor of Special Appointment.

He received a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (honors) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, a Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong, and did his postdoctoral training at Columbia University. Dr. Chua has also served as a Laboratory Instructor in the first organoid workshop held at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and as an eLife Community Ambassador.

He is also an Editorial Board Member and Guest Editor of the Special Issue on Prostate Cancer for Cancer Letters. His research group focuses on the investigation of cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in androgen receptor independence in the prostate.
