Charlotte Hammerbeck-Ward qualified from Barts & The London School of Medicine & Dentistry (University of London) in 2001. She holds her MBBS, a first-class honors BSc in experimental pathology, a Ph.D. in Clinical Medical Sciences (Neurogenetics), and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Neurological Surgery (FRCS). She completed her pre-registration house jobs in Southend and her basic surgical training in Basildon and Romford. Her higher surgical training in neurosurgery was on the South Thames rotation through King's London, St Georges London, and Haywards Heath. Following completion of her training, she undertook a 1-year fellowship at Salford Royal in skull base surgery. She took up her consultant post in Salford Royal in 2013. She has been the Clinical Lead of the department since 2016.
