Charles E. Geyer, Jr., M.D. is a board certified medical oncologist with expertise in the design and conduct of clinical trials and the study and treatment of breast cancer. Dr. Geyer returned to Texas to lead development of CTNeT after nine years in Pittsburgh, PA where he served as Director of Medical Affairs for the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), Director of the Allegheny Cancer Center, and Vice-chairman of the Department of Human Oncology at Allegheny General Hospital. He served as Founding Co-chair of the Breast Cancer Steering Committee of the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program of the National Cancer Institute and is currently serving a three year term as a member of the ASCO Breast Cancer Education Committee. Dr. Geyer recently accepted a position as Associate Director for Clinical Research at the Massey cancer center at the Virginia Commonwealth School of Medicine in Richmond, VA.
A graduate of Texas Tech University School of Medicine and member of Alpha Omega Alpha, Dr. Geyer completed his medical residency and medical oncology fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas. Between his residency and fellowship he served as Chief Medical Resident at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Houston, TX. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research.
