Dr. Mullighan is a member of the Department of Pathology and Co-Leader of the Hematological Malignancies Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He received his training in medicine, hematology, and hematopathology in Adelaide, Australia, and undertook doctoral studies in Immunogenetics at the University of Oxford. His research examines the genetic determinants of leukemogenesis and treatment response in acute lymphoblastic leukemia and related disorders. His work has identified multiple new subtypes of ALL and has identified several genetic alterations that have entered the clinic as new diagnostic and therapeutic targets. His work has been published in over 200 peer-reviewed publications, including Nature, Nature Genetics, Science and the New England Journal of Medicine.
