Charles Erlichman MD

Dr. C. Erlichman, Professor of Oncology Mayo Clinic, led the phase 1 program at Mayo Clinic for >20 years and created a multicenter, multinational phase 2 clinical trials consortium. He performed one of the first trials that demonstrated the combination of 5FU and folinic acid was effective in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer and as an adjuvant in colon cancer.

He was principle investigator on the first in human trial of granisetron that demonstrated its anti-emetic potential in platinum based chemotherapy. Throughout his career he has translated preclinical discoveries into early clinical therapeutic clinical trials as demonstrated by the combination of bevacizumab and temsirolimus was highly promising in PNETs in a phase 2 trial.
