Charles E. Murry, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified pathologist at UW Medical Center and director of the UW Center for Cardiovascular Biology. He is also UW’s William and Marilyn Conner Professor for the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, which he directs, and a UW professor of Pathology, Cardiology, and Medicine. As an award-winning teacher, Dr. Murry teaches extensively at the UW medical and graduate schools.

Dr. Murry earned his M.D. and Ph.D. at Duke. He co-directs a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Training Grant in Cardiovascular Biology. His clinical interests include atherosclerosis, ischemic heart disease, myocardial infarction, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, valvular heart disease, and cardiovascular genetics. His research interests include cardiovascular stem cell biology, heart regeneration, heart failure, ischemic heart disease, cardiovascular genetics, and gene therapy.
