Charles Deakin MB BChir, MA, MD, FRCA, FRCP, FFICM, FERC

Prof. Charles Deakin is a highly experienced consultant in cardiothoracic anaesthesiology at Southampton University Trust where he specialises in resuscitation and trauma care. He is one of the UK's leading experts in prehospital care and is the Medical Director for South Central Ambulance Service (Hampshire), and medical adviser to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) as a member of its Medical and Survival Committee. He has a wealth of experience in the delivery of air ambulances operations, regularly undertaking operational missions with three UK Air Ambulance services.
Prof. Deakin has been involved in the design and writing of the UK Resuscitation Council courses for Advanced Life Support and he co-chairs the Advanced Life Support Group of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation. Prof. Deakin regularly lectures both in the UK and abroad and is able to effectively share his wealth of personal clinical experience with any audience to deliver comprehensive and effective teaching.
