Chao-lien Liu PhD

Dr. Chao-Lien Liu is an Associate Professor in the School of Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology and holds a Ph.D. Program in Medical Biotechnology at Taipei Medical University. Her research focuses on immunotherapy, oncology, cellular therapy, and immune aging, with particular emphasis on developing translational immunotherapeutic strategies for cancer and age-related diseases.

Dr. Liu earned her PhD in Pathology from National Taiwan University and completed postdoctoral training at Seattle Children's Research Institute. Since joining Taipei Medical University in 2013, she has led research programs investigating CAR-T cells, CAR-NK cells, gamma/delta T-cell therapies, and immunomodulatory approaches targeting pancreatic, ovarian, and prostate cancers, as well as liver fibrosis and age-associated disorders.

Her laboratory also studies immunosenescence and immune dysfunction in aging to improve therapies for cancer and chronic disease. Dr. Liu has contributed to the development of innovative CAR-based therapeutic strategies and exosome-related technologies, and her work integrates cellular therapy, gene therapy, and translational immunology to advance next-generation precision medicine approaches.

Dr. Liu has received several honors, including American Society of Hematology Abstract Achievement Awards and the American Association of Immunologists Early Career Faculty Travel Grant. She continues to lead nationally funded research projects focused on senotherapeutics, tumor immunology, and cellular engineering for cancer and aging-related pathologies.
