Cezar A. Iliescu, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Department of Cardiology, Division of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Iliescu received his MD in 1994 from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in Bucharest, Romania. He completed a residency in surgery at Fundeni National Hospital, Romania, and his internship, residency, and fellowship in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology at The University of Texas-Houston.

Since 2008, Dr. Iliescu’s major areas of work and research are Interventional Cardiology and acting Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. He has lectured on interventional onco-cardiology around the world and published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles on this topic. Dr. Cezar Iliescu is an interventional cardiologist interested in vascular biology in cancer patients, endovascular treatment of patients with chronic thrombocytopenia, physiologic assessment of coronary stenosis, and treatment of radiation-induced cardiovascular diseases.
