Dr. Cesar Pablo Ramirez-Plaza Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Malaga (1987-1993). He studied the specialty of General Surgery and Digestive System at the Hospital Regional Universitario (HRU) of Malaga "Carlos Haya" (1995-1999). During the months of July, August, and September of that same year, he underwent specific additional training at the Hepatobiliary Service of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
From January 2001 to March 2010, he worked as a Specialist in General and Digestive Surgery at HR Carlos Haya, being a member of the HRU Hepatic and Pancreatic Transplant programs. To do this, he complemented his training in the field of transplantation at the University of Minnesota Fairview Medical Center during the months of April and May 2006.
He obtained the degree of Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Malaga in May 2001 with the thesis "Prognostic factors for the survival of gallbladder carcinoma" and has been Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Malaga between 2007-2010.
He has been an Associate Physician with tenure by the opposition of the General and Digestive Surgery Service of the "Virgen del Rocío" University Hospital in Seville from 2010 to August 2017, the date on which he fully incorporated into private healthcare after requesting a leave of absence in the public health system.
Since September 2009, he has assumed the General and Digestive Surgery Service of Hospital QuirónSalud Málaga, making it compatible from 2017 to 2019 with the same function at Hospital QuirónSalud Marbella.
Since January 2018, he is a member of the Provincial Technical Committee of the Spanish Association Against Cancer ( AECC Málaga ).
Currently, Dr. Cesar Ramírez is the only surgeon in the European Economic Community who has managed to be accredited by examination in 6 different EBSQ (European Board Surgery Qualification) diplomas from the UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists): Surgical Oncology (Surgery Oncology or Cancer; Barcelona 2007); Multi-Organ Retrieval (Multi-organ Donor Surgery, Berlin 2008); Pancreas Transplantation (Pancreas Transplantation, Berlin 2008); Liver Transplantation (Liver Transplant, Paris 2009); Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Surgery (Liver, Bile Duct and Pancreas Surgery; Zürich 2010); and, Endocrine Surgery (Endocrine Surgery; Berlin 2013). This gives him, in each of these fields, the highest qualification and professional level for the practice and development of surgery.
In November 2016, the Surgical Institute of Andalusia, which carries out its work at Hospital QuirónSalud Málaga, received the distinction as a full member of the GECOP (Spanish Group of Peritoneal Oncology Surgery) as an accredited center for Peritoneal Carcinomatosis Surgery. Thus, it becomes the first and only hospital in Malaga with this distinction and the first private hospital in Andalusia.
