Graduated in Medicine at the University of Santo Amaro (1986), Cesar received his Masters's degree (1998) and Ph.D. (2008) in Hematology at the University of São Paulo (1998). In 2017, Dr. de Almeida-Neto became an Associate Professor at the Tropical Medicine Institute at the University of São Paulo. Having experience in Transfusion Medicine, he has been acting on Blood donors, Hemotherapy, Hematology, Transfusion transmitted diseases, Patient Blood Management, and Apheresis. Cesar participated in The International Visiting Scientist Program; "Writing Sabbatical"; at the Center for AIDS Prevention, University of California, San Francisco, (UCSF) USA (2006). He has been a co-investigator of the Retrovirus Epidemiology Study (REDS-II) since 2007. Dr. de Almeida Neto participated in the 2017 Clinical Research Training Institute and in 2019 in the Advanced CRTI-LA sponsored by the American Society of Hematology. In 2018, participated in the training "Mentoring of Mentors" at the Insititute for Global Health, UCSF. Cesar is also a funder member of the Brazilian PBM Working Group.
