Dr. Celia Robinson Ledet is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she specializes in general and acute care surgery for patients with cancer. A board-certified general surgeon and surgical critical care specialist, she is recognized for her expertise in complex abdominal wall reconstruction, benign biliary tract disease, minimally invasive surgery, and the surgical management of critically ill oncology patients.

Dr. Robinson Ledet earned her Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine after completing a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Spelman College. She completed her General Surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine, including dedicated research training in surgical oncology and a Chief Residency in Patient Safety and Quality. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Baylor College of Medicine, further strengthening her expertise in complex perioperative and critical care management.

In her clinical practice, Dr. Robinson Ledet provides comprehensive surgical care for patients with cancer who require treatment for abdominal wall defects, gallbladder disease, hernias, and other complex general surgical conditions. She has extensive experience in minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques and is committed to optimizing surgical outcomes while enhancing patient recovery through evidence-based perioperative care.

Dr. Robinson Ledet is an accomplished clinical investigator whose research focuses on surgical oncology, abdominal wall reconstruction, postoperative outcomes, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), robotic surgery, healthcare quality improvement, and health disparities in surgical care. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and scientific presentations that have advanced the understanding of surgical outcomes, minimally invasive techniques, and perioperative care in oncology patients.
