Cecelia H. Boardman, MD, is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist with Virginia Gynecologic Oncology, part of the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital. Dr. Boardman completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, as well as a postdoctoral research fellowship at Magee-Women’s Hospital with the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her residency and internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Magee-Women’s Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Boardman earned her medical doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and graduated cum laude from Yale University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.

Dr. Boardman is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Boardman was honored with The Dianne Harris Wright Professorship for Obstetrics and Gynecology Research at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. She has been active in clinical research at the Massey Cancer Center. Her research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, she has presented her research on a national level, and she has published several books and chapters. She has also served on the Cervix and Vulvar Committee for the Gynecologic Oncology Group/NRG.

Dr. Boardman specializes in gynecologic oncology and minimally invasive and robotic surgery for gynecologic malignancies. She has a special interest in the early detection of ovarian cancer, biological therapies for gynecologic cancer, management of advanced and recurrent cervical and endometrial cancer, and hospice and palliative medicine. She has served as a site investigator on numerous clinical trials to advance treatments for gynecological cancers.
