Dr. Chappell is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh. She completed fellowships in both reproductive infectious diseases and family planning and then was a BIRCWH scholar. Her research focuses on optimizing antiviral strategies for women of reproductive age with chronic viral infections, and more specifically evaluating the safety and efficacy of directly acting antivirals in pregnant women with hepatitis C virus.
