Catherine Brannigan has been a Registered Nurse since 1995. Catherine is a highly experienced nurse with a thorough background in the key pertinent areas in critical care, hepatology, organ donation, and liver transplantation. She’s an experienced nurse who has worked mainly in the field of hepatology, including transplantation, organ retrieval, research at the largest European liver unit, King’s College Hospital, London.
Catherine spent two years working at a national level for UK Transplant in Bristol. These roles included performance nurse manager and acting head of advisory groups. The roles involved mapping and planning organ donation and transplant coordination services in the UK and supporting organ transplant advisory groups. In 2006, Catherine migrated from the UK and is currently working as a clinical nurse consultant in Liver Transplantation & Hepatology at AW Morrow Gastro Liver Centre at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. The role provides expert direct care to patients with advanced liver disease and includes patient’s pre- and post-liver transplant.
