Dr. Carri-Ann M. Gibson is currently the Chief of Specialty Programs (Substance Use Disorders Services, Trauma Recovery Program and the Suicide Prevention Team) at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, Florida. She is a board-certified psychiatrist with additional certification in pain management and the implementation of prolonged exposure therapy to treat posttraumatic stress disorder. Dr. Gibson’s career interests include the comprehensive treatment of both psychiatric and medical illnesses, including chronic pain and substance use disorders, in Veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder. Dr. Gibson is also a certified prescriber of buprenorphine for patients who have opioid use disorders. She has spoken on the hospital, local, community and national levels on posttraumatic stress disorder and other issues impacting Veterans. Dr. Gibson has also been an expert consultant to the national and local news stations and papers.
