Carolyn Weiniger MB ChB is an Associate Professor in the Division of Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine at the Tel Aviv Medical Center, Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv Israel where she is Director of the Obstetric Anesthesia Unit. She has authored over 70 original research papers, reviews, and chapters, mainly related to safe practices including respiratory depression associated with opioid administration, external cephalic version, and placenta accrete. She is coEditor of the first edition of Principles and Practices of Maternal critical Care, due to be published in December 2020.

Professor Weiniger serves as Chair of the Obstetric Anaesthesiology Subcommittee of the ESAIC and is an Editor of the International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia. These roles reflect her specialist clinical practice in Obstetric Anesthesia. As Chair of the Israel Society of Obstetric Anesthesia, she is responsible for Scientific and educational activity in this field in Israel. Prof. Weiniger is an avid supporter of her children’s competitive swimming, and in her precious downtime practices yoga, and loves baking and pre-covid traveling with her family
