Carolyn Becker, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Master Clinician in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Hypertension at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. She did her undergraduate work in Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, received a Master's Degree in Sociology at the University of Illinois, and received her MD from Harvard Medical School.

She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago then returned to Boston for a clinical and research fellowship in Endocrinology at Massachusetts General Hospital. She spent the next 14 years working as an endocrinologist in private practice in Danbury CT and Westchester County NY until 2001 when she joined the Metabolic Bone Unit at Columbia University and served as associate director of the osteoporosis center there. In 2007, she joined the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Hypertension at Brigham and Women's Hospital as a Master Clinician, specializing in osteoporosis and metabolic bone disorders. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Becker served on the ABIM Subspecialty Board in Endocrinology for 6 years and from 2003-2007, served as the first Vice President (Physician-in-Practice) for The Endocrine Society. She has been a member of many committees of The Endocrine Society including Special Programs, Clinical Affairs, Nominating, and the Awards committees. In her capacity as VP, she also served on the Executive Committee and Council for 4 years. Dr. Becker recently completed a term of service as Chair of the yearly post-graduate meeting Clinical Endocrinology Update and the CEU Steering Committee.
