Dr. Carolina Barnett-Tapia is an Assistant Professor, at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Ontario. She is also part of the medical advisory board for the Myasthenia Gravis Society of Canada, an active staff member of the University Health Network, and an Assistant professor of neurology and medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Barnett-Tapia’s plenary lecture at the 2020 AANEM Annual Meeting will discuss her work assessing new health technologies and treatments.

In 2012, she was awarded a clinical research fellowship award by the American Academy of Neurology and the American Brain Foundation. The awarded project is aimed at developing new tools to assess patients with Myasthenia Gravis, and she is focused on incorporating patient-reported outcomes. Other research interests include quality of life in MG as well as clinical trials and outcome measures in neuromuscular disease.
