Dr. Yauk’s research objectives are to develop improved toxicology methods for the risk assessment of environmental chemicals, and to reduce uncertainties in risk assessment. This includes addressing current gaps in knowledge and data that exist in risk assessment frameworks; for example, improving tests and guidelines for assessing heritable genetic effects; increasing mechanistic understanding of how chemicals cause toxicity; providing insight into how data from new test methods (e.g.., toxicogenomics) can be used to inform and enhance human health risk assessment; and creating new methods and approaches for the use of new data sources for hazard identification and risk assessment
