Carole has had 40 years’ experience as a nurse with 20 years as an Infection Control Nurse working in three acute NHS Trusts. Up until mid 2016 she was working as Assistant Director of Infection Prevention and Control Nurse before moving into Clinical Governance with a broad portfolio. She continues to lead the IV Strategy Group at her Trust. She has also been instrumental in developing trust wide surveillance for central venous access devices infections and improvement work to show a reduction of CVAD infections in the trust.
She has held roles with the Infection Prevention Society as Yorkshire Branch Coordinator, Co-ordinator for the IV Forum, Deputy Secretary and became Honorary Secretary to the IPS in October 2016. Carole has led, on behalf of the IPS, the Vessel Health and Preservation working group and has published and presented this work, with team members, both Nationally and Internationally.
