Carole Buckley

Carole Buckley is a recently retired from partnership in Bristol, Carole has been the GP member on the NICE guideline development groups for Autism in adults, the management of autism in children and young people and Learning Disability and challenging behaviour. The Royal College of General Practitioners made autism a clinical priority from April 2014 to March 2017 and Carole was appointed to the role of clinical champion. On completion of the clinical priority the RCGP created the role of clinical representative to maintain its support for autism, and appointed Carole to that position. She is a member of the RCGP Intellectual Disability Professional Network and the newly created Discover steering group for Autistica. She has a son on the Autistic spectrum giving a more personal and unique insight into the challenges posed by ASD.
