Dr. Carol Fries Simpson, MD, is an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist at the University of Rochester. She completed medical school at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, followed by pediatric residency, chief residency, and fellowship training at the University of Rochester. Dr. Simpson is board certified in Pediatrics. Her clinical interests include the evaluation, management, and surveillance of children and adolescents affected by pediatric cancers and blood disorders. She is also an early-career physician/scientist studying the genetic and molecular mechanisms of the most common childhood malignancy, acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Her ultimate career goal is to improve the personalization of therapy and minimize unnecessary treatment-related toxicity for children and adolescents affected by cancer.
