Carol Samuel PhD, FFHT, HMAR

Carol is highly regarded in the field of reflexology and is the first person in the world to have achieved a Ph.D. in ’Reflexology and Pain Management’. She has gained awards from both the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) for Excellence in the field of Research. In 2018 she was a finalist in the National Complementary Therapy Awards held by Chamberlain Dunn for the category of 'Pain management, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.

Carol has published in both National and International press and in peer-reviewed journals, her first research paper ‘Exploratory study on the efficacy of reflexology for pain threshold and tolerance using an ice-pain experiment and sham TENS control’ was published in Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice, 19 (2) 2013, 57-62. She is an invited speaker at a variety of conferences both medical and complementary and works to bridge the gap between orthodox medical practices and complementary support through science and clinical reasoning.
