Dr. Penn is currently the Director of Service Integration with Ocean Health Initiatives, a Federally Qualified Health Center based in Monmouth and Ocean Counties in NJ; Staff physician with Medimorphosis, Physician Assisted Weight Loss and formerly served as the Acting Medical Director for Quality Community Health Care, a Federally Qualified Health Center in Philadelphia. During her Residency in Family Medicine, she served as Chief Resident in Family Practice Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital/North Philadelphia Hospital System (2012-2013); National Health Corps Scholar(2002-present); Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine(2014-present); Faculty, Center for Mind Body Medicine, Washington, DC(2013-present); Mind Body Skills Group Facilitator; Nationally Certified Health, Wellness, and Fitness Coach (Wellcoaches Inc.); Nationally Certified Personal Trainer; (National Council on Strength and Fitness); Certified Yoga Instructor; member of the National QiGong Association; Reiki Master/Teacher; and Health Correspondent for WURD radio and host of her podcast, Mind, Body, and Spirit Medicine with Dr. Carol Penn. Dr. Penn is a graduate of Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (formerly University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey, School of Osteopathic Medicine (UMDNJ/SOM).
Dr. Carol Penn is a physician board certified in both Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine with a focus on mind body medicine; arts medicine; and nutrition medicine emphasizing prevention and wellness to optimize human potential. Additionally, Dr. Penn, has a strong interest in integrative approaches to palliative care medicine and is a published researcher in End of Life Care and Mind Body Medicine.
