Carmita Abdo MD, PhD

Carmita Abdo, MD PhD in Psychiatry, is an Associate Professor of the Department of Psychiatry, Medicine School, University of Sao Paulo (FMUSP), Brazil. Dr. Abdo is also a tutor at the Masters and Doctorate Programs of the Department of Psychiatry of such Medicine School. She is responsible for the course “Aspects of Human Sexuality” of the Postgraduate Program in Psychiatry and for the course “Sexual Medicine” at Graduate level. Moreover, she is a member of the Committee of Postgraduate Program in Psychiatry and Graduate Program in Medicine. She is responsible for the course "Specialization in Human Sexuality" at the Postgraduate Program of FMUSP. She has founded and coordinates the Program of Studies in Sexuality (ProSex) of the FMUSP, a multitask group of teaching, research, health assistance and community services in the area of sexuality. She is head of Sexual Medicine Unit in Clinics Hospital of FMUSP. Her research interests are: Sexual Medicine; Medical Psychology; Psychotherapy; Psychopathology of Communication
