Dr. Carmela J. DeCandia, President of Artemis Associates, LLC, received her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, New England. A Clinical Fellow of the Harvard Medical School, she graduated to work in community practice to serve homeless and highly vulnerable families. She has worked for nearly 30 years, with children and families affected by trauma and adversity by successfully designed programs and built organizations to support trauma-informed, resiliency based, service delivery. She was Director of the National Center on Family Homeless for almost 4 years and has authored several publications on topics including child development, trauma, family homelessness, and assessment. A member of the American Psychological Association, she holds a mastery certificate from the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma. She is currently Principal Investigator of NEST project funded by NICHD. She was awarded the Horace Mann Spirit of Service Award from Antioch University.
